I literally have a chill as I read this. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!! WAY TO GO, BUDDY!

Thanks Frank. It was actually emotional for me as I finished. A lot of hard work this summer and a lot of hard riding today. I am pretty proud of myself for this one.

Congratulations!! We knew you could do it! I cannot imagine riding for that long, time or distance. You obviously trained the right way. What a fantastic achievement – did they at least give you a certificate or cross-the-finish-line photo to frame and hang on the wall that says “I did it!” ?

I have a certificate but I had no way of carrying it flat on the ride home so it is a little damaged. I think I will frame it anyway. I can’t imagine riding for that long either. Dealing with how much was left after each milestone was one of the most difficult parts of ride. Even when at 65 miles or so when I was confident that I could do it I knew I had 2-3 hours to go.

Thanks for the call before the race. It was a nice touch on your part.
